Employees of the “Maliqi Group” group have registered in the Register of voluntary bone marrow donors, hoping that at least 40 people suffering from leukemia from anywhere in the world will be helped to stay alive.
Referring to our altruistic convictions, the volunteers from “Maliqi Group” donated only 5 ml of blood, and thus entered the Register of voluntary bone marrow donors.
The action took place in the FOUR restaurant, in the Park Hotel & Spa.
A total of 40 employees from the company “Maliqi Group” joined the national campaign BIDI SRCEVINA – BIDI HEROJ, which is implemented by the Hematology Clinic, with the support of the Ministry of Health and the Institute of Human Genetics.
In the world, every 4 minutes, a person is diagnosed with leukemia, and the chances of finding a related donor are sometimes very difficult.
We hope that our 40 colleagues will have the opportunity to give people suffering from some type of hematological cancer a chance for a new start.
The reason for this action was the opening of the first Regional Center for Bone Marrow Transplantation within the Hematology Clinic, which, in addition to the insurance companies of North Macedonia, is capable of treating patients from Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and, where these interventions have not yet been introduced.
At the same time, we joined the appeal of the health authorities, for as many citizens as possible to register in the Register of voluntary bone marrow donors.
